We just discovered that a dominatrix has links to Redfin listings on her site.

Also: has anyone in real estate noticed that a judge has granted an injunction against Google and Amazon’s efforts to scrape photos off adult Web sites? David Eraker, our founder, pointed it out to me the other day. Interesting to us, since we’ve considered scraping for-sale-by-owner listings from other sites, like Craig’s List.

    Highly unlikely that you’d be in the same sort of scenario that Google is in. The plaintiff argued that Google’s thumbnails were interfering with the market for porn on mobile devices by serving as a substitute for Perfect 10′s downloadable reduced size “content” for mobiles. In other words, Perfect 10 was successful in arguing that they want to send tiny porn pictures to mobile phones and that somehow Google’s thumbnails would interfere with Perfect10′s ability to make money from that. Just scraping data would be unlikely to be viewed the same by a court. You should check with an attorney though. Don’t take any actions in reliance on my post.
