Listings load fine but I can only scroll one way through the photos. If I try to go back (using the arrows under the photo) or wrap-around at the end of the photos, nothing shows up anymore!

I am not sure the example proves either point: if we believe in the Patriots' system and the genius of their coach, why would they have lost last year's championship? Is the Giant's system better than the Patriot's? One reason a team wins is that the players on one side just play better.

But let's agree that some projects take more talent, others depend more on a system. Both are important, but writing software is a creative enterprise where a small number of people can make a difference; no one really think software engineers can be treated like Wal-Mart employees.

For this reason, Sam Walton might have failed in software, and Bill Gates might have failed in retail. And if Sam Walton were alive, I think he would say that Wal-Mart has plenty of talent.

Glenn - You obviously are not a sports fan. There are numerous examples every year in every sport where big-time talent fails to produce championships. Last year, the 16-0 Patriots with Randy Moss, all kinds of statistical records, lost the Super Bowl, but have won 3 Super Bowls with far less talented teams. Ask one of your financiers, Paul Allen, if talent indeed wins championships? Not to get too "sportsy" on you, but talent is sometimes overrated. Do you really think the 1 million plus people working at Wal-Mart are talented? But Sam Walton, if alive, would be far richer than Gates. What about the entire finance industry, analysts, bankers, and managers...every decade, we seem to have a financial meltdown in one asset class or another. I am a believer in "system" over "talent".

Good point Zach! Redfin on Chrome is super-fast.

Regarding whether a Google engineer has ever applied to work at Redfin, one of our fabulous engineers just reminded me that several Redfin folks turned down jobs at Google to work at Redfin.

The only reason I am the one leaving this comment is because "Google makes you sign crazy NDAs as they recruit you."

Redfin works great in Chrome, except Overhead View.

It says:
To view this listing's location on the map, Redfin requires Firefox™ 2.0 or 3.0, Internet Explorer™ 6.0 or 7.0, or Safari™ 3.0 or 3.1.

Which is odd given the fact that the big map works just fine.
