January 2013 Redfin Real-Time Demand Pulse (December data)
The Redfin Real-Time Demand Pulse shows mixed signals from December: the trend in tours last month was a little stronger than a year ago, but the trend in offers was a little weaker.
It seems that the few buyers who were willing to spend their holidays house hunting were hopeful as they toured homes for sale, but ended up disappointed in what they found, leading to offers falling faster than a year ago. January will set the tone for 2013, so we’ll be keeping an especially keen eye on the data this month. For now, feel free to download the spreadsheet if you’d like to dig into December’s data for yourself.
