Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Looking to Unload Marital Mansion

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are looking to sell off their five-bedroom Los Angeles estate for $3.495 million. News of the sale comes on the heels of a rumor that the couple may be splitting up after five years of marriage.

The couple purchased the 6,300-square-foot walled compound for $1.912 million in 2009. Richie and Madden aren’t the only celebrities to own the home; the duo bought the property from NFL linebacker Michael Croel.

The home was built in 1914 but has certainly been updated since then. The open floor plan, soaring ceilings and huge windows make it feel spacious and airy. The interior of the home is a fabulous mix of materials, including light and dark wood, stone and exposed brick.

Richie and Madden have two children together, and we’re sure they enjoyed the backyard amenities, including the swimming pool AND teepee!

Maybe Richie will divulge some inside information on her relationship status and the sale of her home in the second season of her reality TV show “Candidly Nicole,” which premieres on July 22^nd.
