Each March, tens of thousands of tech fans descend on Austin for the SXSW Interactive Festival (SXSW). Sessions at this annual conference explore a host of topics from disruptive technology like Uber to the latest in independent film and music. SXSW is unique not just for the thought-provoking presentations, but also because the community plays a big part in shaping the festival’s agenda. In fact, anyone can submit a session idea or vote on a favorite proposal.
This year, Redfin submitted a panel proposal titled Diversity in Tech Goes Far Beyond Gender. This session proposal features our very own CTO Sasha Aickin, who will talk about how, in order for technology to address our deepest problems, we first need to solve one of our industry’s deepest diversity problems: rethinking how society integrates computer science, and how computer science integrates society. Love technology and believe in our vision? Here is how you can help get our session selected for the 2015 SXSW Interactive Festival.
