UnReal Estate of the Week: Manors for Mean Girls

by

Reading Time: 4 minutes

It’s October 3, which means it’s National Mean Girls Day! It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since Karen, Cady, Gretchen and Regina entered our lives. Since its release in 2004, the hit movie has provided the internet with endless GIFs and quotes, which will be flying across the interwebs today. To celebrate this historic occasion, we’re featuring homes for sale that would be perfect for each “Mean Girls” character.

When Cady visits Regina’s home for the first time, she’s amazed. “Your house is so nice!” she exclaims, to which Regina responds, “I know, right?” We get a great view of the exterior of the home, which has prominent Roman columns and a circular driveway. This home in Laguna Hills, California, has a similar look and feel. The custom front doors open up to a grand entrance with a floating circular staircase, soaring ceilings and a chandelier. The home spans more than 6,300 square feet, and includes a library, wet bar, billiards room and a master suite with a dry sauna and Jacuzzi tub. We know you’re obsessed with it.

Price: $939,000

At the beginning of the movie, Cady explains “I’m 16, and until today, I was home schooled.” Her parents are reluctant to let her go on the first day of (public) school. They pose for photos in front of a traditional style home, with a large porch framed by brick columns. This home in La Grange, Illinois, has a similar roofline and porch. It was built in 1910 and has custom millwork, beamed ceilings and leaded glass throughout. There are five bedrooms, offering plenty of space to throw a house party. It would just be a shame if word vomit turned to mouth vomit in this beautiful home.

Address: 715 Napoli Dr
City: Pacific Palisades, CA
Price: $8,995,000
Listed by: Marco Rufo, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California

We only get a few glimpses of Karen’s home in the movie, but it’s safe to say that if she’s hanging out with the Plastics, she comes from a wealthy family. In one scene, she’s preparing for prom by placing stick-on gems in the shape of a K on her chest – so 2004! In the mirror you can see hardwood floors and a beautiful fireplace with a white mantel. This home in the Pacific Palisades, California, has a bedroom with a similar design. The home features a wine cellar, steam shower, gym, theater room and game room. Outside there’s a pool and spa surrounded by an expansive patio, where Karen could step outside to see if it was raining. Unless she could already sense it.

Address: 227 Copa De Oro Rd
City: Los Angeles, CA
Price: $18,950,000
Listed by: Drew Fenton, Hilton & Hyland

We’re pretty sure the inventor of Toaster Strudel could afford this $18.95 million dollar home in Los Angeles. Known as the “Whispering Pines Manor,” it was built in 1929 and has recently been restored and renovated. One room was painted a light purple color, similar to the color of Gretchen’s bedroom in the movie. The compound includes an oversized guest house, inviting pool house and an enormous car collector’s garage. So fetch.
