Bainbridge Island’s Seabreeze: Condo Living for the Chocoholic

Could the Seabreeze be my very favorite new project on the Bainbridge condo scene? Would this have anything to do with the impending arrival of Bon Bon–a chocolate shop slated to open here between Christmas and New Year’s–alongside what will reportedly be a tea house? Chocolate and tea? On Bainbridge? I say yes to that.

My friend Robin emailed me that Lisa Dunlap, Bon Bon visionary, has scoped out the most wonderful chocolates in the US and France. I too have scoped out the most wonderful chocolates in the US and France and look forward to scoping out a few here on the island. Can you imagine living with that scent wafting up through your windows? I couldn’t purchase a condo here personally or I’d end up sitting in bed surrounded by mutilated glossy chocolate boxes, like someone out of Stuart Saves his Family.

This building of 11 units occupies a primo location in Winslow, a-hem, excuse me, I mean the Marina District. As long as you don’t pay attention to the auto parts store tucked right across the street next to those nice guys at BI Cycle, you are a chocolate covered walnut’s throw from Winslow’s Cafe Nola, boutique shops, the post office and Town and Country Market, yet off the main road and walk able to the ferry no less. This building is all angles and
as with any decent box of chocolates, I’m curious what will be inside each of these units. Will it be a rich, creamy bordeaux or a pineapple mush? I promise to poke my head in a soon as possible and bring more Seabreeze-related musings your way. Meanwhile, it looks like it’s shaping up to be a sweet spot for those with a little self-control.
