Open Houses in Salem this Weekend…and Summer Storms!

manchester Open Houses in Salem this Weekend...and Summer Storms!I checked NOAA’s forecast for the weekend, and especially Sunday. It will probably be nice on Saturday, when most of the open houses aren’t, but Sunday there’s a good chance of thunderstorms — and when there’s a good chance, the weather generally doesn’t disappoint.

While that will likely make for bored, unhappy real estate agents sitting at poorly-attended open houses, if you’re even having passing thoughts about living up here, you ought to see a storm. A thunder storm on the ocean or bay is a tempest. I’ll be glued to my window, watching the swell and foam. And then, afterwards, there’s that smell….

This one has just seen a price reduction, and the first year of condo fees are on the seller. There’s an open house scheduled every Sunday from now until September…I’d say that’s either a motivated seller, a motivated agent, or both.

The photo above links to the Peabody Essex Museum (and comes from a Yacht photography exhibit they put up last year).  The PEM is a real treasure and well worth making part of your trip up here.  Just click the sailboat.
