Dine and Dash: Heading South Again

norfolk Dine and Dash: Heading South AgainLast week, we hit Ashmont in Dorchester, a neighborhood so big, it’s divided into smaller neighborhoods. Sunday, we’ll pass through a couple other Dot sub-sets, Neponset and Port Norfolk, before we visit Quincy.

Neponset is one of the many smaller neighborhoods in Dorchester, known mostly for its rotary, Neponset Circle, and its traffic. Port Norfolk, a neighborhood just off the busy rotary, doesn’t really get much traffic at all. Because it’s a peninsula, nobody uses its streets as shortcuts to anywhere; Port Norfolk is the destination for almost everyone who visits. The only real outside traffic comes from visitors to the Neponset River Greenway- a park and bike trail filmed in The Departed.

Our destination for dining is Quincy Dynasty, a beautiful Chinese restaurant in North Quincy that offers dim sum with Sunday brunch. Quincy was an Irish-dominated city just south of the Neponset River, but its makeup changed dramatically in the last few years. A massive Asian influence now flavors everything, prompting the Patriot Ledger to run a special section about Chinatown South.
