Condo Market Fluctuation in West Town
The condominium market in West Town, including Wicker Park/Bucktown, has been on a wild ride lately. Since January the market has seen inventory peak at $325 per square foot and plummet to nearly $225 per square foot at the beginning of spring. The spike back to around $290 can probably be explained by the natural spike that occurs in the housing market every year around that time.
The summer has seen prices tailing off again, however, and at the moment they are hovering around $250-275 per square foot. Where it is heading next is anybody’s guess but current pricing in this range looks to be a good buy.
