Stay Inside

SoCal fires

As flames that have consumed over 1000 homes continue to scorch the Southland, health officials have urged residents to stay indoors. Resultant particles and debris have adversely affected all air quality over all of SoCal- including communities not directly in the path of the embers.

“The air quality has rapidly deteriorated over the past few hours, and we are taking this action to protect the health of all residents,” said Dr. Jonathan E. Fielding in a statement released to media outlets and government agencies.

Even here in the largely unscathed San Gabriel Valley, light ash particles have started to rain down under the sickly glow. It’s only another all-too-real reminder of the seemingly ever-growing liabilities of California living. Our thoughts go out to those in the affected zones of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego counties.
