Travertine flooring, glass rails, teak benches and a new glass elevator. This is all part of the 15-month-long and $35 million renovation that was completed Friday at South Coast Plaza.
With a large number of its visitors coming from outside of southern California, South Coast Plaza is a well-known international destination, located in Costa Mesa’s South Coast Metro neighborhood. This shopping center, which is privately held by the Segerstrom family (a family with Orange County pioneer roots), currently covers 2.2 million square feet and has more than 280 shops and restaurants.
