There was a fantastic article in The Wall Street Journal yesterday covering the massive number of new construction projects that are now offering bonuses to agents who deliver buyers. The most interesting part is the ethical discussion of whether or not agents disclose this to their buyers. As you can see from today’s post on our corporate blog, we are announcing a policy today that we always disclose these payments, and pass them on to buyers as an additional bonus! (Read more here.) So how do you find these special bonuses? We will start blogging about them in a new area of the site to be focused on new construction. The first is today’s Sweet Digs.
The much talked about Waterview Condominiums in Kirkland are in a prime location right on the water in downtown Kirkland. They came on the market at the beginning of September and now there are just five units left. For those of you that are even remotely interested in a condominium option, there is a fantastic deal if you put in an offer which is accepted by the end of November. Buyer’s agents qualify for a 4% commission (instead of 3%) which means you would get even more back from us at close. To even further sweeten the deal, they are offering to pay all homeowners’ dues for the first year and all closing costs up to $15,000! This is truly a fantastic deal and well worth checking out even if you are just looking and aren’t sure you are ready to buy yet. I put together a little graphic to show what you could expect to get back at closing for each of the units remaining:
If you go: There is one incredibly important thing you must do if you want to qualify for the refund. You must register that you are using Redfin as your agent when you visit the site or tell them as much within 72 hours of your first visit.
