In a market that seems to be leveling out, this hottie is not paying attention. Judging by location, square footage, condition and features of this house, it does warrant this price $675,000). The problem begins when you go around the block, literally (2653 46TH AVE SW) and there are brand-new, monster homes with larger rooms, better bathrooms, more square footage, cooler amenities, and best-of-all, prices that keep coming down.
The flyer describes this home as a “Handsome Admiral Tudor” and I have to say it is. The “Handsome Admiral” is mostly original, and in tip-top condition. The kitchen, however, boasts a fantastic upgrade. Complete with stainless detail, (not just Home Depot’s best), but like something out of Wolfgang Puck’s home kitchen.
The main living room is large, it has coved ceilings, arched passageways (which are throughout the main floor) and beautiful wood window and trim detail. The gorgeous original hardwoods lead you into a small sitting area and then to the large dining room complete with an ornate built-in (my china would finally have a home).
After waving to Wolfgang and Martha as you pass through the outstanding kitchen you are on your way to the next room. The only bedroom on the main floor is good-sized and is serviced by the main floor era-bathroom.
Heading upstairs, to my surprise, The Handsome Admiral was tall, even my husband, 6’2″ had adequate headroom at the top of the stairs. Here you will find a large bedroom, a master bedroom with a big walk-in closet, and a bathroom that is perfect to get ready for work or to bathe a baby in.
Hustling down to the finished basement it feels warm, but it could use a little more of an update. You’ll find a family room, laundry room, utility room, entry to the small-attached garage (probably better served for storage) and finally, the stepchild bedroom.
The yard is a bit choppy, something agents like to call terraced, but let’s just say it’s naturally tiered. The back yard has a swing-set and overall the yard could us a gardener’s touch.
The Admiral is a good value, has amazing authenticity and a really swell galley, but he faces stiff competition from his mates just around the corner.
