Hmm…the paperwork I picked up at the open house listed this home as 2,600 sq. ft., noting buyer to verify. It does feel more like that than the 2,060 sq. ft.* listed online. My walk through makes me think you will find it spacious no matter which is accurate.
Seeing real wood doors to the bedrooms, baths and closets was very exciting since hollow core ones dominate so many properties that I visit. As someone who relies on hot baths throughout the winter, I wasn’t crazy about the shower-only master bath.
I was impressed by the number of storage closets all over the house – in addition to those in the four bedrooms I saw three closets in the main hall and one off the living room. The living room is a good size but it felt kind of isolated from the kitchen and dining room (and indoor BBQ!) areas. There’s a deck to the west, accessible through the dining room, which I think would be nicer if it had more privacy from the driveway. Perhaps all it needs is a trellis and some container gardening.
A fenced yard and patio lie just beyond the huge rec/bonus room at the south end of the house. I noticed a distinct lack of trim around the French doors installed here, and a missing stone in the building’s front facade was another slight imperfection I spotted on my visit.
I am actually surprised this home has spent almost a fortnight on the market. It seems to me that $525,000 is a good price for lots of light and space in a home that’s pretty much turn-key.
