Goin’ with the flow in Walnut Creek

Some nice possibilities beckon from Walnut Creek, the first of which is new, the last of which is a chance to snap up a detached residence close to the delights of Walnut Creek’s downtown. (Thanks to CanonMan on flickr for the walnut tree photo!)

39 Park Terrace Court, Walnut Creek:  7 bedrooms/6.5 baths, 4,985 sq ft, $1,850,000. Open Sunday 1-4. Oooh baby, this baby is new, with a view of the foothills and Mt. Diablo and a pizza oven. Readers have asked for higher-end properties, and this one fills the bill!

1873 Castle Oaks Court, Walnut Creek: 5 bedrooms/3 baths, 3,570 sq ft, $1,299,000. Open Sunday 1-4. Talk about yer hot properties, this one has two fireplaces, a double oven and a pellet stove (among other amenities). In case you’re not familiar with pellet stoves, there’s a photo of one at left courtesy of Dan Vandervort. Such stoves cost a lot less than wood stoves and are used for supplemental heat, though they do require a certain amount of maintenance.

1770 Sunnyvale Avenue, Walnut Creek: 3 bedrooms/3.5 baths, 3,240 sq ft, $1,250. Open Sunday 1-4. In addition to a separate cottage and workshop, this place has the kind of amenity that means more to me than things like granite countertops: a beautiful tree in the front yard that’s currently changing color to a lovely red.

3205 Caravelle Court, Walnut Creek: 4 bedrooms/2 baths, 1,890 sq ft. Open Sunday 1-4. $898,500.

1987 Shuey Avenue, Walnut Creek: 2 bedrooms/1 bath, 940 sq ft. Open Sunday 1-4. Check it out: It’s located close to downtown, which as we’ve mentioned is replete with attractions including great retail, cool restaurants and a performing arts center, and is a sweet little cottage, not a condo.
