Living By LMU

Loyola Marymount University was named one of the “10 Most Beautiful Campuses” by the Princeton Review.

But the question for home buyers is whether or not the neighborhood is a good place to live. The area around LMU, also known as North Kentwood in the realty circles, does have some nice things going for it. There are some quiet, tree-lined streets. You’ll see lots of homes circa 1950 with well-manicured lawns. And you’re close to specialty grocery shops like the local Bristol Farms.

Just recently, the property on 7900 Chase Ave. sold for $900,000. It was listed previously at $919,000. Apparently, its initial list price of $939,000 wasn’t good enough to cut the right deals. The property is a three-bedroom, two-bath single-family home with 1,528 square feet of space.

Here are a few more places selling in the area:

7916 Westlawn Ave./3bd, 2bth/$799,000

7969 Chase Ave./3bd, 2bth/$949,000
