Pinkberry Is Coming To Town!

img_0740.jpg

What’s icy cool, tart to the tongue, and known to cause long lines? It’s Pinkberry - the frozen yogurt chain that has been expanding throughout New York and California. And soon, there’ll be another shop in Playa Vista right next to Concert Park. The storefront’s there right now, but not much else.

By the way, the sign says they’re hiring, too. So if you know anyone who wants to get up close and personal with the sweet confection, the opportunity does exist.

Pinkberry is the most disgusting ‘treat’ every invented. I would rather eat $5 worth of chalk than pukeberry.

From what I’ve seen, people do love this stuff. It’s apparently a hit or miss dessert. Does anyone else have any comments one way or the other?

Haven’t tried it yet, but I know the one in little Tokyo is getting some buzz too.

The one in Old Town Pasadena has been open for a while and is constantly busy. I’m not a huge fan of the yogurt-but-not-really thing myself, especially at their prices. But it is a phenomenally smart idea!

The initial hit from the brainfreeze and tartness was a bit much for me but I grew to like it (not love it). We’ve had a few Pinkberry copycats open around Seattle to not quite the same reaction. It’s a bit cold this time of year to stand around and eat frozen yogurt.

I’ve tried Pinkberry myself, and though I like it (I have a sweet tooth), the popularity amazes me.

There’s definitely some sort of frozen yogurt craze that’s been going on. And Pinkberry isn’t the only place. There’s Kiwiberry, Red Mango, and others. If you’re curious, take a look at these links.
