On again. Off again. No, it’s not a rocky celebrity relationship. It’s Playa Vista’s new elementary school. In 2007, it seemed like there wasn’t going to be a campus for the Playa Vista kiddies. Building funding was short, oh, about $2 billion district-wide. School-aged children in Playa Vista that attended the lovely LAUSD school system got bused to Loyola Village Elementary or Playa del Rey Elementary.

But now, four acres right next to the Playa Vista soccer field will indeed get put to use as the new Playa Vista elementary school campus. In case you’ve got a youngin’ that you’re ready to ship off in the next year or two, don’t get too excited yet. The school won’t be ready until the 2012-2013 school year.
