Mystery Construction In Playa del Rey

You didn’t think they were going to stop construction on Manchester Avenue yet, did you? I’ve driven by this building-in-the-works a number of times. This wood-frame structure looks like it’s going to be another apartment complex for rental. (Or perhaps condos for sale?)

Unlike the nearby Playa del Oro development just down the way on Lincoln and Manchester, there aren’t any advertised signs. There’s just a scrawled plaque letting us know what the address is – 8238 Manchester Avenue.

I contacted the City of LA Department of Building and Safety to see if I could get more info. I’ll update here when/if I hear back. But if anyone else knows what this is, drop us a line!

Update: Lo and behold, the City of LA does get back to you! It’s a 41-unit apartment building that we’re looking at. Maybe it’ll be another option for folks in the area to stay at while housing prices come down.
