New on the Market: Introducing Two New Redfin L.A. Bloggers

L.A. is a big place — too big, it turns out, to be covered by just three “Sweet Digs” bloggers. So this week we’re adding two brand-new writers to our L.A. team. Anita Chabria will keep us informed about housing trends in Downtown L.A./Silver Lake/Eagle Rock, and Tim Hebb will blog about San Fernando Valley real estate. With Christina Chan focusing on Playa Del Rey and Westchester, Charles Song writing about Pasadena and Glendale, and me, Cindy Allen, reporting on BevHills, Westwood and Hollywood, we hope to give Angelenos a pretty fair picture of what’s happening in some of our most sought-after markets.

Here are Anita’s and Tim’s pictures and bios. All of us are looking forward to hearing from you.

Journalist and book editor Anita Chabria bought her first home in San Francisco’s Noe Valley for a meager $13,000 down—a long, long time ago. Since then, she’s run through a handful of other houses and twice as many mortgages, and has somehow ended up in a 1950s ranch fixer in Los Feliz that she optimistically bills as mid-century modern. She begrudging shares her square footage with her husband, daughter, and two very bad dogs. During the week, she writes about business and lifestyle for various publications. But on weekends, you can find her roaming the area’s open houses, baby in tow, on the endless search for her bargain-priced dream home.

As if 20 years of computer consulting haven’t earned him enough of a stigma as a nerd, Tim Hebb enjoys seeking out obscure foreign and indie films to write critiques of for even more obscure journals. Tim’s 12-year-old son Nick tolerates his single dad’s embarrassing social deviance in return for rides to far-flung soccer tournaments that confound his father’s understanding of the offside rule. Tim and Nick make their home in a guest house in Sherman Oaks that they rented soon after selling a modest post-war SFR (San Fernando valley Relic) for an obscene profit in August 2006, precipitating Tim’s current obsession with real estate.
