More For Your Money In Westchester
There are plenty of single-family homes to go around in Westchester. Give or take a few handfuls, there are about 100 properties from just west of Lincoln Boulevard in the west to S. La Cienega Boulevard in the east. Redfin only has information on square footage for about 1/3 of those properties. But from that info, I can tell you that the average square foot of homes in the area is about $510 per square foot.
So let’s dig around and find out which of those properties offers you more for your money. The winner for spacious floors is on 6416 W. 83rd St. This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath property has 2,400 square feet of space. At $395 a square foot, you’re not getting a bad deal relative to other properties in the neighborhood – if space is what you’re looking for. Need a break from a much loved member of the family every now and then? You’ll find it with this home. And there is enough fancy travertine tile to make you feel like you’re in plush accommodations. The property is currently going for $949,000.
If you’re looking for something that is a bit more affordable, but still yields more than the average space for your dollar, take a look at 5601 W. 78th St. You get three bedrooms and one-and-three-quarter-baths. At $453 per square foot, you’re still paying less for the space than many homes in Westchester. And 1,456 square feet of space is certainly enough space to fit a family that’s just starting out with a little one in tow. Just be prepared to do some work on this one to get it up to par. This one is going for $659,900.
