Nassau and Suffolk Counties Provide First Time Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance
Wow! Being a first time home buyer today is a pretty good place to be!
With prices down to 2004 levels, mortgage interest rates down to all time lows (although they have been trending up recently) and the federal government providing an $8,000 grant, it really makes buying a home more affordable.
Then, add in the Redfin rebate and the fact that Nassau and Suffolk Counties are also offering as much as $14,000 or $15,000 to it and…really wow!
By the way, you may qualify as a first time home buyer if you haven’t owned a home for the PAST THREE YEARS…check below for qualifications.

Also, some townships are offering low cost loans or subsidies for down payment assistance. Look at this Town of Babylon program and call your Township or the Long Island Housing Partnership to make sure you are aware of all the available programs.
