Diggin’ Dana Point

marinaboats2 Diggin Dana Point

The first time I visited Dana Point was a few years ago to interview a famous surfer whose name I have since forgotten. But, what I do remember is being impressed by the lovely views of the marina and the harbor below his property. This surfer dude sure had a view to die for, in fact, I remember being able to see Catalina clear in the distance.

This is a city that offers everyting from sportsfishing to whalewatching, to the Ocean Institute for learning and so much more. I actually just had a wonderful lunch date there where I enjoyed a captivating view of the shimmering harbor while dining on some superb seafood.

Dana Point became a city in 1989 and today it continues to be a great place to visit thanks to its many small cafes, and little hidden shops. Time has pretty much stood still in D.P., but the prices of homes is still climbing. Most of the residences here — especially if you want an ocean view — are well into the 7 digits.

Next time you’re feeling nautical, check out D.P. a fun place to visit and perhaps an even better one to live — that is if you have the bucks. Even the street names have a certain rich sophistication to them!
