Fall Tips For the Do-It-Yourselfer
I came across a few sources for fall decorating tips that might interest some of the home decorators, or potential home decorators, out there.

An article in the Orange County Register (“Fall into the decorating spirit for autumn“) suggests using the following fall standards: fall foliage, gourds, hedge apples, twig bundles, birch baskets, and fall fruits and vegetables. Good suggestions, but I don’t agree with the author’s statement that using fake foliage, fruits and vegetable is as good as using the real thing. (As the writer, Mary Carol Garrity, sees it: “[t]oday’s fakes are simply divine.”)
Well, I don’t know about divine; I am more inline with Tara Kolton’s statement from “Fall decorating ideas” on the DoItYourself.com website:
“Why go out and buy plastic decorations when you can find almost everything you need right in nature? …. Not only will do-it-yourself decorating save you money, but the look you achieve will be more natural, refined, and last in your home long after Halloween has passed. Plus, you can tap into your creativity with hands-on decorating, a fun way to get you into the fall spirit.”

My favorite tip came from an article by Norman Winter that I saw in the Orange County Register (“Fall into a fall spirit“):
“Don’t forget that even though traditional fall colors are oranges and yellows, the blue selections will really complement pumpkins and gourds.”
