What’s the first place you think of when you think of multi-million dollar properties? Beverly Hills? Holmby Hills? Yep, that’s right. I recently came across some interesting home prices up in La-La Land that blew my mind. After checking those, I thought I would see how my area ranked … There are a few homes that are close to the $10 Million range in Dana Point, but check these out in LA first and drool:
Perhaps the most expensive home listed in the country, at $165 Million, and called “The Beverly House Compound,” is located 3 blocks north of the Beverly Hills Hotel in an area on approximately 6.25 acres of land and approximately 75,000 square feet of living space. With its legendary and incomparable history, it was formerly owned by William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies, Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy honeymooned there, but never before has this estate– now owned by a banker – been available. Next, at $125 Million, there’s the “Fleur De Lys,” pictured above, an LA mansion located at 350 N. Carolwood Dr. in the Bel-Air/Holmby Hills area. It’s modeled on Versailles and other French palaces and is owned by Suzanne Saperstein, the recently divorced wife of Texas millionaire David I. Saperstein. Records indicate that the couple bought the roughly 5-acre, 45,000 square-foot lot near Beverly Hills in the 1990s and spent 5 years building the home. It has Italian marble walls, French limestone floors, gold-embossed leather wall coverings and gold-leaf crowned mouldings, according to the property listing. Rooms include a ballroom with ceiling frescoes, a library with a first-edition book collection, two kitchens and a screening room with seating for 50, a pool house has a full kitchen, a massage room and a gym. Also on the property: a three-bedroom manager’s house, staff quarters for 10, a nine-car garage and a ¾-mile jogging track. And dropping down to the $50 million mark is the home of “Wheel of Fortune’s,” blonde-headed letter-turner, Vanna White’s ex-husband, developer, George Santo Pietro. The grand scale living room, dining room and family room together with the gourmet kitchen make it the ideal venue for entertaining guests, family and dignitaries. Outdoors you will encounter a variety of luxuries from the outdoor Italian kitchen to the sand volleyball court to the herb and spice garden.
In Dana Point: There’s the “Aloha Spirit,” for $9.8 Million with 5 br/5 baths and room for 12 cars, located smack-dab right on the beach or at 39 Monarch Bay Dr. for $11 Million, with 4 br/4.5 baths, and a stone’s throw from the famous Ritz-Carlton, is a palace just for you.
