According to a report from the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.), home sales decreased 36.2 percent in November in California compared with the same period a year ago, while the median price of an existing home fell 11.9 percent. As 2008 approaches let’s hope the New Year will bring more prosperity to the housing market. In the meantime here are a few reductions for the last day of 2007. Also, thanks to the Times Square Alliance’s (which has been organizing the famous NY ball drop since the early 1900s) Web site for the photo above:
34436 Camino El Molino: In Dana Point – The list price was $1,099,000 and changed to $999,999.

Yep, you read it right here on this ‘ol blog: home sales are slower than molasses (photo courtesy Oregon State Univ Edu.) but that doesn’t stop new home builders from taking advantage of homeseekers. Let’s check out some of the past sales in Central Mission Viejo. These center around the intersection of Felipe and Oso. These include two neighborhoods in the area. Apparently on the East Side there was no need to report the square footage and rooms on the properties.

Quite a few homes in the Newport Beach area have been sold in the past few months. No doubt many have been foreclosures and others a combination of reasons. The prices that the homes are going for certainly aren’t at discount prices and even if they were, they still would not be very affordable. Although one of the best places to live in Southern California, many people are opting for other pastures…but I am sure they are less green. Don’t forget the pets.

I’m writing from the land where it’s about as cold as the So Cal Real Estate market. Though I’ve searched high and low and scoured sources near and far, much to my dismay without my LA Times in hand there aren’t many open houses to report to you! But, I will share what small morsels of info I have found with you!

Just a few more days until the new year is here. For many this means leaving things in the past, including houses. Out with old, in with the new, as the saying goes. Once again it is applicable to the real estate market as well. For many in Huntington Beach, their 2008 will be found elsewhere. As I have often said, I am not for sure how you top Huntington Beach, but it seems like a few have found a way. What one has lost, another has gained. Looking at these few past sales will also help us gage the 2008 market in the immediate and surrounding areas.
