So many buyers are greedy early on and assume they can always reduce but it doesn't reflect well and just costs in the long run by spending time sitting idly on the market. A competitively priced home will go faster, but many don't want to risk the "what if I could have gotten more" syndrome by selling at a lower price than they think they should have despite this volatile market.
