Orange Juice Chock Full of Good Stuff

orange juice Orange Juice Chock Full of Good Stuff

Here at Redfin Sweet Digs, we love to read and recognize other blogs that we think are bright, insightful and worth the investment of time.  We give you links to the best ones on our blog roll and Orange Juice is one of them.  OJ is a political blog, but it also contains good reads on this ‘n that.  Occasionally, it gets a little heavy but for the most part it is light, clean, informative reading geared towards an intelligent, thoughtful audience interested in life and government in Orange County.

I really liked the post by Luis Rodriguez titled What is with the Blog Wars in which he takes an honest look at bloggers attacking each other and the effect it has on readership/appeal.  I totally agree.  While calling out the egregious failing of others is one thing, a constant barrage of mudslinging across blogs gets old really fast and makes for a tiresome time.

There is also an excellent post written by Larry Gilbert called If Prop 99 passes your church may be taken by a redevelopment agency.  Larry talks about the lack of sufficient protections for religious organizations against the power of eminent domain.  It is specific, thought provoking and in tune.

One of my most favorite posts, Obama Endorses Orange Juice!, is written by Vern Nelson.  You have to read it to understand why.  Suffice it to say it is a very clever play on words.  There are some posts that are perfect in their simplicity and this is one of them.  You’ll get a good chuckle and it will raise your mood just a little higher than it was before.

There are many other good posts on OJ too numerous to count and the writers are worth a regular read.  Check ‘em out and let them know Redfin sent you.
