Pads with a Pool
Weatherman says to expect temperatures in the nineties this mid-October week. Maybe a swimming pool should be on your list of features as you look away from the city.
This is another reason that East County is best; for a reasonable amount of money you actually get a bit of land with your house. A nice pool is one way to put that land to good use, and our Mediterranean type micro climate makes a pool all the more satisfying.
Here, for example, is a house atop Mount Miguel with a fantastic view of Mt. Helix and Point Loma. You see it has a lovely pool and it sits on almost 2 acres. Unaffordable? Not at less than $500k.
Take a look at 9418 Montemar Drive in Spring Valley:
For $448,000 you get 3 beds, 2 baths and 2,212 sq. ft. of mountain magic.
Ah, but is there a catch? Of course there’s a catch- It’s a fixer. True East County lovers aren’t afraid of a little work so this may still be the deal for you.
Well OK, maybe that scared you off so let’s see what else we can find. Oh, this is nice! For a little more money we have a more civilized house at 10753 Avenida Catherina in Spring Valley. Start with the stats: 4 beds, 2 baths, 1,870 sq. ft., it’s listed at $539,000 which comes to $288/sq. ft.
Here’s that pool:
And here’s the house at 10753 Avenida Catherina:
This house also has central air and something called ‘boat facilities’.
Let’s find one more affordable home with a pool to get a sense of what’s available. Here’s another possibility for $620k (still a reasonable $302/sq.ft.) you get 3 beds, 2 baths and 2,056 square feet of house on 1.27 acres in Spring Valley. -And a pool!
3158 Fair Oaks Lane, Spring Valley 91978, starting with the pool and view:
And now the house itself. Listed 453 days, the agent seems to say that the price has been reduced $100k.
It’s close to Steele Canyon High School and Rancho San Diego Shopping.
Look for a future blog featuring homes with private heliports. Best wishes till then.
