Mail Enhancement – Bigger, Better and Guaranteed to Please

There has been some buzz in the proverbial real estate hood about the stability, or lack there of, of home values on the high end of the market.  You would think there bob enzyte guy2 Mail Enhancement Bigger, Better and Guaranteed to Pleasewould be more wiggle (sorry, Bob) room at higher prices, and sometimes that’s true, but often it’s not.  The most dramatic price decreases seem to be in the middle of the market which, when you think about it, makes sense.  The bottom of the market is crowded with fixers and less-than-desirables.  The top of the market is populated with high priced, super spectacular homes with owners who can wait out the market and whose purchasers are likely to buy a certain property for reasons other than a great deal or to capitalize on someone else’s misfortune.  Right there in the middle are the homes with the greatest appeal to the broadest audience.  These are homes owned by working families, middle America and people who really hoped they could be homeowners in San Diego.  This is where there is the most desperation to sell and where the deals are to be had.  That said, the most magnificent homes in San Diego are going on the market and they are selling, albeit slowly, but multi-million dollar digs almost always take longer to go because there is a smaller pool of potential buyers, natch.  Here are some of the sexiest properties San Diego has to offer.

So right Tom! Loved your post on foreign investments in San Diego real estate (http://sandiego.redfin.com/blo.... You should also check out what Roberta Murphy (http://www.luxuryhomedigest.co... and Peter Toner (http://real-estate.sandiego-ml... have to say on the subject...very interesting stuff.

OTOH, the more expensive homes draw interest from around the world. Some of these San Diego communities already abound with foreign migrants with Euros and Yen and other currencies that put ours to shame. Keep it up Carol!
  • Houses at the top of the market are usually unique and have a smaller universe of buyers. Because of that, they can hold their value, but they can also take a long time to sell. (With the exception of Prince Bandar's Aspen retreat, it seems: http://realestalker.blogspot.c...
John Knight wrote an article in Real Estate Economics that supports this- middle of the market homes sell faster, and are more tied to a fluctuating market price than high end, unique homes.
