Carol’s Blue Ribbon Awards for Great San Diego Gardens

There are few things in life that give me such pleasure as a beautiful garden.  I love lots of greenery and color overflowing with abundance.  A well loved yard is as important as a home’s interior and often the first sign of how a property has been cared for.  We are blessed with a mild, mediterrean climate where lots of interesting plants do well and we can garden nearly year round.  Long time staples like impatiens and poppies thrive here but other exotics, succulents and fruit trees also grace our landscapes.  San Diego has a thriving community of gardens and gardeners.  In the Hillcrest area we have the Mission Hills Nursery and the Hillcrest Farmers Market that bring us a sampling of great florabundance plus plenty of support to help our gardens grow.  Here are a few homes with amazing yards meant to celebrate the great outdoors.

EEEE GADS. $690,000 for 4225 Johnson Street? Is it in Beverly Hills? Didn’t someone tell the owner that real estate prices are dropping not rising? I saw this house on caravan. Not bad, but not great. The yard is overgrown. And…who’s going to pay the last two years of back taxes that show on the property profile??? Something is fishy here
