What’s the real state of Carlsbad real estate?
carlsbad beach The Real State of Carlsbad Real Estate (San Marcos Too)
Last night at our home-buying class, we went through recent pricing trends and foreclosures in Carlsbad and surrounding areas. You can find the full slides here (large file), and we’ll have another event in Carlsbad in late September. Look for it and RSVP here.

But here’s some data to snack on while you’re waiting for the slides to download.

  • Ok, you got me- there's a zip column that I accidentally excluded. So the first four columns are all Carlsbad, but in four different zips. If you read down the column, San Marcos has two different zips too.

In the tables above, I've now added the zip column back.

The zip code column was shown in the class, which is probably why we didn't get these questions there- my bad, I lopped it off for this chart.

The first 4 rows of each table purports to show the same type of sale.... Please explain.
  • One is detached (single family homes) the other is attached (townhomes and condos). Is that your question?

    All the data is 2008.

I'm guessing one of these tables is 2007 data (a cut and paste error)? Otherwise, I do not get it.
