U-District Sweet Dig Scrubs Up Well
Today’s most-clicked-on Seattle property is a U-District place that reminds me a little of my grandma: initially dowdy-seeming, but actually quite modern (she once bought my cousin a tattoo for her birthday): 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,900 square feet on a 4,000-square-foot lot, built in 1937. Yours for $579,000.
OK, so here’s the boring part:

But check out the interior:

The listing description gushes about Brazilian hardwood, as if that’s a good thing for all of us.
It’s in a nice neighborhood (i.e. close to a Banana Republic and a Starbucks) of modest homes, though because of the remodeling, this one is a little north of the $534,440 average list price.

The place was bought three years ago, undoubtedly before the remodeling, for $315,000. The pictures look well-staged, so they’re working hard for the mark-up. I bet they get it.
