Whopper in Wallingford
Wallingford marks the spot for the most-clicked on property of the day and it’s a big one. $525,000 buys you 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a commodious 3,020 interior square feet, and 5,000 square feet on the lot.
Here’s what I love about real estate: the bewildering array of properties that could be bought to fit individual tastes and lifestyles. It’s consumerism taken to the extreme. You could buy yesterday’s Sweet Dig for more money but own a considerably smaller home (1,235 square feet less, 4 bedrooms fewer) and much less potential for appreciation. I know, I know, apples and oranges. There’s location, condition of the home, and a thousand other factors to consider but my point remains; not a single property is exactly alike. Now only if consumers had more choice in how to buy said properties…

This house has investor potential written all over it. It looks to be in move-in condition but a remodel could easily move this home into another price bracket. $173/sq ft is an absolute bargain when you consider Wallingford’s average is $295/sq ft. 45th St is two blocks away and provides easy access to its many shops and restaurants. The U-District and Woodland Park are both a five minute drive away.
