Urban Wilderness in Issaquah

Today’s most-clicked on property is a mountain retreat located in the Squak Mountain area of Issaquah: $589,000 list price, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, and 2,580 square feet. Issaquah used to be a pit stop for skiers on the way to Snoqualmie Pass. These days it’s ground zero for new construction in the Eastside. You’ll find some new neighbors from your perch on Squak Mountain, mostly north of I-90, in planned communities like the Issaquah Highlands. A vast swath of protected woodland lines your backyard so you’re never far from escaping city life (click on ‘Parks’ near the property and scroll south)

How in the world did they capture this rear photo of the house? That’s some serious brush you’d have to wade through, not to mention the elevation drop off, to get the right angle for this shot.

The median price of homes for sale in Issaquah is $670,000. A house down the street of similar size is for sale but it’s STI (subject to inspection). It lacks the interior panache or the views of today’s Sweet Dig.
