Bainbridge Island: Basic on Bainbridge?

Is there such a thing?
When I moved over here after a year on Issaquah’s Pine Lake Plateau when we first arrived in the Northwest, my neighbor (a guy who literally dust-busted his garage floor) accused me of going to live with all those wine sippers on Bainbridge. What did that mean? I’m still not sure. I know that guy enjoyed his wine-out-of-a-box plenty, let me tell ya. But I think he would be surprised to see that there are some normal houses (yes, you really can get a decent pair of pants for under $1,200) over here in La La Land.

This is an in-towner–close to the library and Safeway. There is something ultra cozy about it regardless of its unassuming laminate flooring and the fact that the exterior is painted the dreaded beige. It is not trying to be something other than what it is, and that can be refreshing. Perhaps it’s the angled brick fireplace in the living room or the abundant light in the kitchen/dining room. There is nothing fancy about this house, but for a young family, the fenced yard and family neighborhood will be big time pluses.
