Seward Park: Frolic Responsibly

This is a spacious rambler with style on a hermit-worthy hidden street, with cobblestones to boot. The house itself looks to be in great condition (although I would brighten up the battleship color scheme) and contains an entire MIL apartment. The real clincher for me is that it just happens to be across the street from one of my favorite secret parks in Seattle.
Martha Washington Park is nearly 10 acres of grassy meadow, tucked into narrow residential streets. Punctuated by lovely madrona trees, the park slopes down to Lake Washington, providing killer mountain views and water access.

I took this picture the other morning from the beach front area of the park! Yow!
There are no sport courts, playgrounds, or picnic tables. It’s also lacking a parking lot, so it is easiest to arrive by foot. This nicely cuts down on the hoards of people and thrashing dogs, not to mention the glaring lights and basketball sounds. It’s a quiet gem. (But ixnay on the elltingtay boutay the arkpay.) Not that I’m anti-social. I can be quite friendly, thank you very much.

The goods: The price is $619,500. Previously sold in 2002 for $320,000. 7,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 2.25 baths.
