South Seattle: Bathroom Bonanza

Even fellow blogger Amy will have to like the bathroom situation in this new Columbia City town home. There’s one for each of the three bedrooms, and a powder room to boot.

Additional boons include ample storage and a handy deck right off the main living level on the second floor. There is also a rooftop deck with terrific territorial views. In all honesty I am not one for schlepping my drink and snacks up two flights of stairs to enjoy the sunset. Nonetheless, those with green thumbs will probably see this as a wonderful place for a container garden, and it holds great appeal for parties.

Partial views from the west facing rooms are largely of other roofs. Makes for a very urban feel. So does living off an alley, which is essentially how this home is placed.

Thanks to the town homes on the east side of this grouping, I found the living room and master bedroom to be quite dark. The ground floor bedroom is as well, due to the proximity to the house next door and the fence dividing the properties. Between said fence and the bedroom there is a small patio (consisting of about a half dozen square pavers) on a garden strip that looked to me to be about 5 feet wide or so.

There are two bedrooms on the third floor and while the master is a decent size, the other room seemed incredibly small to me. It would be good for an office or maybe a nursery/child’s room but I can’t imagine anyone over 7 years old finding it usable.

All new construction in a group of others just like it, and in a great location if you want to be super close to the action that is Columbia City. Sharing walls is a cost effective way to avoid compromising on location – it’s in the PI.
