Bellevue: Afternoon Tea and Scones
Sometimes it’s hard to see a house objectively, without being influenced by its decor (hence, the popularity of staging). Such was the case here, where the perfectly neat yet natural landscaping and prim and pretty interior created a powerfully English countryside feel. Very unique, warm and charming. Afternoon tea would be a natural here.
In another great West Bellevue location close to downtown (just two blocks to Main Street in Old Bellevue), this would be a perfectly mannered place to call home. I loved that the family room has windows or doors on three sides, and a wide opening to the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets and built-ins in the family room and den are all light wood, adding to the bright feel throughout the house. Upstairs, the master bath has a jetted tub and a frosted, etched glass window above for elegant privacy. And there is even room enough in the master bedroom for his and hers closets.
Looking out the family room through French doors felt like a perfect transition out to the English country garden, with its low deck with pretty railing, and curved arbor above the step down to the rustic stone path. And the house sits at the beginning of a private lane, which appeared to be a very quiet location.
