South Seattle: Whole Lotta Lot

Space and views abound at this home sitting on a 9,000 sq. ft.* lot in the Lakewood neighborhood.

 South Seattle: Whole Lotta Lot

Though one could probably guess it based solely on some stylistic choices, it’s been almost two decades since this home’s interior had a facelift. The result is an odd amalgamation of decor trends. I am sure the kitchen was tres moderne when first renovated but it now looks really 80s. I think the same improvement brush touched one of the upstairs bathrooms with an attempt at an art deco theme.

With wood paneling and acoustic tiled ceilings the finished rooms in the basement look like they were last worked on in the 70s, but there’s plenty of usable room down there and it currently houses a media room, bedroom, office and a large unfinished space with a pool table in it. On one of the many verandas there is an outdoor hot tub looking over a decent sized back yard and Lake Washington. The house is directly next to a greenspace where the locals gather to watch the Seafair aerial show, and this historic manor is just across the street.

I think the house needs some updating to really make it fab but the asking price of $1,250,000 gets you a hunk of land with a killer panorama to enjoy as you determine what improvements you want to make.
