We’ve heard the outcry from neighborhood activists south of the Ship Canal who feel condo developments are ruining their environs. There is a question there about urban density versus suburban sprawl. On the other side of the debate are those who oppose the tearing down of historic buildings in favor of new construction.

But is the situation the same in North Seattle? Whether it’s a newly constructed condo or a renovation of an older building, replacing a run down house or building with spruced up construction can often revitalize—or even create—a neighborhood.
