Record Home Foreclosures and Eastside Price Reductions

The mortgage mess continues to get even messier, as ”Home Foreclosures  Jump to a New Record.”

The percentage of all mortgages nationwide that started the foreclosure process jumped to a record high of 0.78 percent during the July-to-September period. That surpassed the previous high of 0.65 percent set in the prior quarter.

The number of foreclosures and late payments on subprime adjustable rate mortages also reached an all-time high during third-quarter, 2007.  While the feds work away at untangling the mess, home sellers continue to whittle away at their prices, hoping to get the attention of buyers.

Here are the latest Eastside price reductions, $30,000 and up.
