March Real Estate Madness

Open houses this weekend:

The NWMLS stats are out for March and they’re looking grim for sellers especially outside of King County. Skies are brighter near Seattle, we’re still in the black in King County in terms of average price.

Usually March is a better month for real estate but the anticipated upswing was nowhere to be seen. I think around this time people start spring cleaning and decide instead of get rid any of their stuff they really need a bigger place to store it. This spring we might see more garage sales since it seems people are staying put.

Seattle Bubble has done some comprehensive number crunching to show that in a nutshell in the greater Seattle area:

  • supply is increasing
  • demand is decreasing
  • prices are declining

What else is new?
