Coffee shop of choice: Café Ladro, Bothell
Favorite places to go: Walks along the Canyon rim and neighborhood trails are so peaceful and relaxing. I often also head up to Tully’s with my laptop.
Best features of the home: The roomy front porch where we sip coffee and wave at passing neighbors, shaded by the leafy mimosa tree with its scented feathery blooms. Indoors we love the big windows that keep the home bright, and the high ceilings of the living, dining and foyer and the huge skylight at the top of the stairs; the extra-large soaking tub in the master suite.
Favorite room: The family room with its large fireplace and big window overlooking the deck, and backyard, and on back to the treed wetland areas.
Any remodeling since last sale price: not really…had exterior painted in ’06 with warranty.
Most romantic spot: the view from the trailhead at Canyon Rim common area.
What’s in the neighborhood: 10 min. walk to espresso, grocery stores, parks, dentist, veterinary, drugstores, several eating establishments. 5 min drive to old Bothell with shops, restaurants, the Park at Bothell Landing on the Sammamish River, and Country Village with quaint shops and Friday Farmer’s market.
What I will miss the most: My neighbors, my front porch, our neighborhood, Saturday breakfasts at Crystal Creek Café in Canyon Park, and the five-minute drive to movie theaters at either Alderwood Mall or downtown Woodinville for weekend Matinee’s. Oh, and McLendon’s Hardware in Woodinville. If you can’t find what you need in the front part of the store, they’ll ferret it out somewhere in the back room.
