Location, Location, Location
They say it’s important — and, if the results of this recent Seattle Bubble survey hold true, they’re right.
The Bubble asked readers to vote on their choicest home characteristics, based on a shortlist of hot-button house items devised by Bubble blogger The Tim. Of the 196 respondents, a whopping 117 (that’s 60%!) said that Location, as it relates to neighborhood quality and proximity to schools, topped the list of desirable features.
First runner up? Location again, but this time in terms of commute ease; this category racked up 15% of the votes. Even third place went to Location: In this case, 11% of voters said that a home’s view potential and its closeness to water gave a place its edge.
Trailing behind the Location Trifecta were House Size / Layout, and Lot Size / Landscape, clocking in at 9% and 6%, respectively.
So, what’s the most important home characteristic in your book? Do you fall into the Location camp? Does size really matter? Would lovely (or loathsome) landscaping influence your purchasing decision? And what about the guts of the house: Kitchen capacity? Number of bedrooms, bathrooms, dumbwaiters? Where do these fall on the spectrum?

Both apropos of this post, and of our recent apartment discussion: an Apartment Therapy survey re: what qualities renters desire.
What’s your take?
