I'm sorry bigyaz but this article couldn't be more right. We recently had Extreme Makeover to our town & they built a nice house in a bad section of town, the locals got jealous & began to wreck havoc on the mansion, soon it will be an eye sore just like the rest of the neighborhood. The new owner has no idea nor the means to maintain the house not to even mention the taxes. It is a very nice jesture but these "lucky people" wind up much worse off because they can't afford their new habitat & end up loosing everything.

Don't use the Harpers as poster children for what's wrong with the makeover shows. They chose to use the home "as collateral for a $450,000 construction business loan..."

They took a nice opportunity and gambled with it. They have only themselves to blame.
