Coffee Shop of Choice:
Galaxie Espresso – 3215 Beacon Ave S. We walk to this coffee shop on the weekends, it has good atmosphere and coffee too. It has a great local feel and is a great spot to people watch.
Favorite Restaurant in the Area:
Java Love Cafe / Baja Bistro -2414 Beacon Ave S. Great place to get drinks with your friends. The food is good, and you can sit outside on the sidewalk on a sunny day. They also serve breakfast on the weekends.
Favorite Places to Go:
Walking/biking around the neighborhood. North Beacon Hill is a great place to walk around. We can quickly get on the I-90 Mountains to Sound trail and explore some of the Cities great parks.
Best Features of the Home:
We’ve put a lot of work into this house, adding lots of custom/hand-crafted touches that set the house apart from others. This includes updating the kitchen and custom crafted bookshelves, desks and fireplace mantel. Having a basement to store all the extra stuff that a normal townhouse has is a real bonus.
Favorite Room:
The downstairs kitchen and living room are the spaces we spend the most time in and they are very comfortable spaces. In the winter the fireplace warms the whole downstairs and adds to the charm.
Any Remodeling Since Last Sale Price?:
In 2007 we added cabinets in the kitchen and granite countertops. That along with all the custom touches throughout the home really add comfort and style.
Most Romantic Spot:
Watching fireworks form Dr. Jose Rizal park. Just 4 blocks away on the north tip of Beacon Hill is one of the best places to view fireworks in the City. On most evenings you’ll see people with their camera tripods taking photos of the sunset over the City skyline. This view is featured on TV often.
What’s in the neighborhood?:
New light-rail station, new library, Beacon Hill International School, good restaurants, Jefferson Park (golfing and renovated sports fields). The neighborhood has great views, and easy access to downtown, I-90 and I-5.
What I Will Miss the Most:
My neighbors. The house is great, and we will miss it, but the best feature of all is the neighbors. In the 5 years we have lived here many new properties have been built and renovated on the block that have added to the sense of community on the block. We have neighbors from all backgrounds, newly weds, empty nesters, and working families and they all add to the richness of the neighborhood. Countless times we have needed an ingredient for a meal and been able to ask one of the neighbors to borrow it and vice-versa. There are block parties and less formal get-togethers too, sometimes planned other times spur of the moment.
Another neighbor who moved after getting married a few years ago said she has never lived somewhere with such a great sense of community.
