Coffee Shop of Choice:

The 60th Street Desserts is right out the back door and offers the best scones in Seattle – - crunchy on the outside and soft and moist in the center.  So fresh, they are often warm from just being pulled out of the oven.  Besides fabulous scones they also serve a wide variety of coffee, cookies, desserts, sandwiches, and quiches.  A beautiful meal and a delicious bottle of wine can also be purchased here and then carried across the street to a perfect picnic spot at Magnuson Park.

Favorite Restaurant in the Area:

Reminiscent of a relaxing and romantic evening in Paris, a delightful meal can be spent savoring wine, indulging in delectable crepes, and sharing long conversations with close friends at the Crepe Cafe and Wine Bar on 65th.

Favorite Places to Go:

The Seattle seasons can easily be enjoyed on long walks along the Burke Gilman Trail directly behind the condo community or immediately across Sand Pointe Way in Magnuson Park, the city’s second largest park.  In the park, the seasons can also be tracked by the evident activity in the local Pea Patch, the pups in the off-leash dog park, and children’s smiles as they explore the fun and enticing playground equipment.  On the other side of the park, at the edge of Lake Washington, a good view of the Cascade Mountain Range can be seen in the background with kayakers and kitesurfers in the foreground.

Best Features of the Home:

The large deck is great for relaxing mornings in the sun sipping coffee and eating seasonal fruit to start the day out right!  On summer evenings the shade of the deck can be enjoyed with friends sipping cool beverages and barbecuing the evenings feast.

Has there been any remodeling since you purchased the home?:

In late 2005 the home was completely remodeled to boast of new cherry cabinets in the kitchen that are anchored by beautiful black sile stone counter tops and highlighted with all new stainless steal GE appliances.  The cherry cabinets and sile counter tops are carried into the bathroom to create continuity throughout the unit.  Wood flooring is present in the kitchen and gray rectangular slate can be found in the loo.  The rest of the house is made cozy by the neutral colored carpet. The house is painted in a modern contemporary palette and all new furniture was purchased to reflect the size and scale of the unit.  The furniture maximizes the space in the home and defines specific areas while still allowing the openness of the spacious loft to be felt and enjoyed.

Favorite Room:

With a few candles and savory food on the table, the large dining room is wonderful for entertaining many friends for a casual or elegant meal.  It is a perfectly comfortable space to relax in for hours while enjoying good conversation with close friends and family.

Most Romantic Spot:

On those cold and dark rainy days in the middle of winter, the best place in the house is curled up with a special someone on a pillow reading a book and drinking hot chocolate in front of the warm glow emanating from the fireplace.

What’s in the neighborhood?:

Within Magnuson Park, the retired naval station, the old buildings have been modified and updated to house a community center that supports the local area with racquetball courts, athletic classes, musical and theatrical performances, and many other invigorating activities.  In the North end of the park boats can be rented for excursions out onto Lake Washington and pretty soon the all new Seattle Mountaineers Headquarters will open up with a library, bookstore, and climbing wall for the outdoor enthusiast.

What you will miss most:

The convenience of condo living in a beautiful, very spacious and modern city loft.  The 17 foot vaulted ceilings give on open and airy feeling to the gorgeous unit nestled in a quiet Seattle neighborhood surrounded by city parks and greenways.  A true oasis!

    Dear Sand Point Condos,
I am one of the stewards removing blackberries et al on the Burke Gilman Trail on the section behind you. We have noted that your gardeners have been throwing debris over the fence on to Seattle City Park property. I am willing to clear it out as is, but today I noted new debris on top of the older debris today. If there is any more dumped there, we'll have to report it to Seattle Parks and let you deal with the city about illegal dumping. I have taken pictures of the area as is. I would prefer this to go no further.
    Thank you,
    Jim
