Petaluma: Sing a Tune to This Deal

10 Cherry St. sounds like a song. I love that address, the price and the nifty old-timey workshop included with this vintage sweet tart. This classically simple wood-framed house has a pyramid shaped roof; if you look around downtown Petaluma you’ll see that the pyramid is a popular and lucky motif in old buildings. Petaluma is boasting a new theatre district, and this house is close enough to walk there. The hip yet downhome staff of Peet’s Coffee and Sea Thai Restaurant will know you by name on your second visit.

This house needs some fixing, but if you were 100 years old, you would too. Thankfully the interior has not been destroyed by a DIY, yet one did go a little nuts with the extensive and now bone dry redwood decking. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so you’ll at least be getting some privacy while you’re working it out with the stripper. Real divided light pocket doors separate the dining room from the living room, bulls-eye molding on the woodwork, period details like hardwood flooring, tall ceilings and a real front porch make this Cherry a ten. It’s vacant, which makes me think an offer would be taken graciously and considered seriously. At half a mil, it’d be a sweet deal on the Westside.
